ARCO

The name Arco itself comes from "ARX" ,which means Fortress .The Castle was build the year one thousand by the free nobles of the community .In 1986 the cultural service of the autonomous Province of Trento decided to carry out the major restoration work ,so the ancient road,the outlines of some buildings ,two great cisterns,the "Taylor's Room" and the magnificent fresco room have been brought to light .

All the pictures above are of Archiduke Albert Garden ,settled in XIX century, today known like Arboretum, which with its lemon trees and the smells and essences coming far from lands ,gives an importance evidence of the peculiar atmosphere and climate in this place .

DRENA CASTLE

The Drena castle controls the Sarca and Cavedine valleys and with its massive fortification represents the outpost at the northern crossroads , dominating the charming "Marocche" stone pits .Marocche are the post-glacial landslips like you can see in the picture below .

TOBLINO CASTLE AND LAKE

Below you can admire the Toblino Castle now restaurant with around many Bald Cypresses and a wonderful bloom of Cercis siliquastrum (Judas tree) and viburnum .

Above (second picture)two olive trees with the Easter eggs,a vine cellar which has always the same temperature winter and summer (11°C),and bottles of "Spumante"worked in according to Champenoise method .

GARDA LAKE

The Garda lake is one of the best and big of Italy ,it has a shore in Brescia province (West side) and another shore in Verona province.

The picture above shows the north shore of lake near Riva del Garda and Torbole .

The pictures above show Sirmione ,the native town of renowned latin poet Catullo ; the castle is the Rocca Scaligera built by Mastino I Della Scala in 1259 to protect his lake navy . There now they sell quintal of ice-creams .

Sirmione is renowned for its termal sources in particular for respiratory diseases ,the sources gush at temperature of 75°C.

SALO' & GARDONE RIVIERA

Above some pictures of Salo',another small village on the west shores of Garda lake .Below you can see the "Vittoriale",the house build by architect Giancarlo Maroni for the poet and patriot Gabriele D'Annunzio : you can see the Prioria,the Schifamondo,the Mas 96 of Buccari mockery,the Puglia boat,the plane SVA of  flight over Vienna ,the private garden .The Vittoriale is to Gardone Riviera .

Spirea and wisteria are in bloom .
